Great Cigars!

Do you have a favorite cigar that you like to sit down and relax with at the end of the day. Maybe have it with your favorite drink.

I never smoked my life and was recently introduced to having an occasional premium cigar with a single malt scotch. Smoke one maybe once a week so I don't think it will hurt me much at my age.

Dalmore Cigar Malt is my favorite scotch and I like many cigars, Ashtons when I can afford them, Macanados, Drew Estate Clean Robustos, Romeo & Julletts, 5 Vegas and several others.

Well, KY how about the drink then? Do you enjoy a good Wiskey or Scotch once in a while?

Why, yes, as a matter of fact, I do. Arturo Fuente Chateau Fuente Maduro (as referenced in the December 2005 Cigar Aficionado). Of course, it would be nice to be able to get a Montecristo or H. Uppman again, but I'm afraid it won't happen in my lifetime.

The Arturo Fuente "Hemmingway" is a nice smoke also. A bit expensive for my pocket. Bought one of the Makers Mark Cigars, in a glass tube, infused with Makers Mark Bourbon and that was a nice smoke. Again only for special occasions at $10+ per cigar or for a gift.

My favorite cigars are Sancho Panza with the dark wrapper.

These I have never tried with the dark (madura wrapper). Are they a strong or medium cigar?

Anybody ever try the Iguanas? I mean the green ones. I'm the kind who likes to know what I'm getting before I spend the $. And those seem to be a lot of $$.

I've had a few good ones here and there but usually don't break the bank with a decent Cohiba now and then.

Tabantillas...either natural wrapper or maduro. Nice spicy taste and rather inexpensive for a nice hand rolled cigar.

A friend gave me a couple of Naturals by Drew Estates this weekend. They are called "clean robustos" and they have a great taste, very unusual. Check them out if you get a chance.

The post about the scotch called "Glenmorangie" is interesting because Smoke magazine named it one of the best scotches to have with a cigar. I never heard of it but will try to find a bottle on my next trip to the State Controled Liqure Store.

    Sig232,

The only problem with the Glenmorangie is that it is really good, and really expensive!

The Cigar Malt that I buy is about $35 per fifth. Its made by Dalimore. My wife and I only drink it on special occasions. We drink Famous Grouse on a more regular basis.

What is the cost of the "Glenmorangie"?

The last bottle I bought was actually a 18 year (not 15 as I posted earlier, sorry) and I want to say it was $125 - $150. I can't remember for sure. Best single malt that I have ever had. I would also recommend a couple of others: Cragganmore, Macallan, Balvenie, or Oban. Of all of these the Glenmorangie is my favorite.
