Benelli is just one of many. I have a Super Black Eagle that shoots those, and yes they kick hard.

I have a Mossberg 835 Ulti-Mag that has rolled several turkeys. The gun comes with different chokes, but each one packs a punch.

Prefered turkey load around here for the "run and gun"er's. They brag on their 70 yard kills. You don't want to be leaning against a tree when you light one off.
I still use 3" in my BPS, and that's a thumper. Calling them in close is the real sport of turkey hunting.
By the way, I like the gal in the pics, she must be a good sport. It always irks me when you see some "men" hand a big gun to a little gal and say " go ahead, it don't kick much".

I have an 11-87 3.5" that I use for goose hunting. The recoil is managable.

I can shoot just about anything, recoil don't bother me much. I gots me one of them 835s in 3.5" and let me tell you something, next time I squeeze the trigger on that thing with a 3.5" shell in it something in front of that gun is dying because I aint taking no more practice shots out of that monster!!

Have had a few 835s, loved them.

After they got stolen, I bought a Browning BPS in 3.5 inch.

Best scatter, "meat" gun I've ever owned.

I shoot alot of geese with it, and Turkey with 3.5" shells.

Never noticed the recoil at all.

I started out with an 870. Couldn't hit the broad side of a barn from the inside with it.

Gave it to my father and bought a Mossberg.

    Couldn't hardly miss, with it.

The 870 just didn't "fit" me.

It's a way to get a 10-gauge load from a 12. Makes sense, because the guns can also be used with much lighter loads. But I've never swatted anything larger than ducks, so a 2 3/4 12 ga. works for me. The 3 1/2 is a Bofors for high geese, but make sure your shoulder has lots of room to roll with it [:)].

The 3 1/2 steel loads ain't too bad really, but you notice a 3 1/2 lead load, not really painful, but noticeable.

Never really shot any 3 1/2's in a 12 gauge. 10 gauge 3 1/2's, that a different story. Last time I shot my buddy's BPS 10, I almost lost a couple teeth. Rattled my cage like no other gun has. What a thumper![:0]

My first 3 1/2" gun was a 870 Super Mag. When I picked it up I bought a box of 3 1/2" goose loads. I took it home and put a big one in right away. The first shot about knock the clothes of me, I thought!!

I didn't shoot "alot" of those rounds out of that gun. I shot more 3 1/2", 00 buck at coyotes than anything.

Next gun was an Xtrema. I ended up selling it because the slug barrels were $700.

    Remington 870, Versa Max, 887, 11-87
    Mossberg 835,935
    Browning BPS, Cynergy, Maxus, Citori
    Winchester SX*
Benelli SBE, Super Vinci, Nova, M2,
    Beretta Xtrema, Xplor
    Stoeger
    Charles Daily
    New England

    Did I get them all???

They are great! Had one many years. I don't mind the 3 1/2's, but I'm a pretty good sized guy. I love my SBE, and both my boys and nephew shoot them, as do all the other guys we duck and goose hunt with....

Had a Benelli Super Black Eagle, and the recoil-system is awesome - makes the gun much more simple and easy to maintain, but mostly - nothing breaks.

Had a Mossberg 835 UltiMag once, what a piece of total crappola that is, compared to Benelli.

Presently have a Benelli Nova, which is great too.

And no, they took care of the "rattle" that everyone likes to talk about when mentioning Benelli. That is no longer an issue.

I do just fine with 3in shells, so no need upping the length.

Pumps are probably the best way to go as auto's of the Super mag won't cycle 2 3/4 shells. Therefore you are stuck with a magnum loader.

    Benelli does.!

It only has trouble with light trap-loads before it's broken in properly.

My Benelli SBE worked well with standard trap loads, when cleaned and oiled. It had a little trouble with the lightest loads, in the beginning, until I had shot about 300 shells. Then it worked well with the lightest trap loads in 2 3/4", regular huntingloads from 2 3/4" to 3?".

It didn't care if you mixed the shells either.

My SX2 handles and cycles any shell you put in it from the wimpiest to the OH MY GOD's mixed if you want to (2 3/4"-3 1/2")! If you don't know of what you speek, then DON"T.

I have a stoeger that loves the 3 1/2 shells. If it didn't jam so much I would shoot it more.

I have a Benelli Nova in 3 1/2" and it pounds you pretty good! It gets pricey to shoot too!
