Gotta love the inlaws when their ignorance shows.

Skinning a deer when one showed up yesterday.

"Cant stand the sight of deer meat."
"Cant stand the smell of deer meat."
"Cant stand to think about deer meat."

Went on and on for almost an hour...

Showed back up today and grabbed a bowl and filled it with what was in the pot. Sucked it down and got another.

"Cant stand the sight of deer meat."
"Cant stand the smell of deer meat."
"Cant stand to think about deer meat."

Bowl #2 Sucked it down..

"Man this is good."

Bowl #3 While working on it..

"Cant stand the sight of deer meat."
"Cant stand the smell of deer meat."
"Cant stand to think about deer meat."

"Man this stuff is good.. What is it?? Tell the wife how to make it...

My oldest one about to bust gave him the ingredients.

Potatoes cut into small chunks
Celery cut into small pieces
Onion finely chopped
Garlic powder to taste
Black pepper to taste

and

Small cubed DEER MEAT. Tender Loin is really good.

Loved it when his jaw dropped..[:D]

But it finally got to a bowel, I bet, unless he hurled it back into the bowl. [:p]

Lighten up you spell checkers....[:D][:D] LesWVa, I know exactly what you mean. I have in-laws just like that. Only, I tell them up front so they can't eat anything first. They always ask for venison and I never give them any....Mrs rider gives it to them out the back door. But, they always keep bad mouthing......[xx(][xx(]

I had a friend whose wife was that way. Oh no I will not eat wild game I could never like it. Well one day I made a ruffled grouse and woodcock stew and the wife invited them over for a "chicken" stew dinner. Well she loved it. Wanted to know how I had made it so it was so delicous. So I told her what it actually was. After that she would make the same thing and even a couple years later started eating deer meat. [:p]

I have a daughter like that, my wife loves to trick her into eating venison.

Mrs. Sahagan just made a new batch of wild cherry jelly today....folks figure it will taste like a cough drop. Couldn't be further from the truth, but hearing anyone say that means I can keep another jar for myself.

Ummmm, I could go for another hot buttered biscuit and wild cherry jelly along about now. Catch you later....

My mom is the same way and I've tricked her a time or two with venision. Always a fun when I wait until she get's home before I tell her what she ate. She doesn't even want to eat my in-law's fresh beef.

I have a brother who says he hates sage(The herb). It makes him sick, stinks, he can smell it for a week if it comes in his house..

He loved my venison sausage last year, says it's the best I ever made..I put LOTS of sage in it, then added more for the batch I gave him.

    I still haven't told him, don't think I ever will.[:D][}:)]

My wife and I had a group from a "dinner group" we're in over for cocktails and appetizers last Christmas season. Just about every year, I have my mother pickle a venison heart and roast it, then slice it up and cook it in a sour cream gravy. (very European, Bohemian). We then serve it with small cocktail rye's. Most people just love it, some people stop eating it when they find out what it is!! Great, it leaves more for me!!! I loved watching the people, AFTER they knew what it is!!
