What a nice rifle and in a great caliber. You can use a 338 on just about anything that walks or crawls on this planet and this Steyr is super nice.

Probably directed towards me. I deleted my post. Did not want to jinx myself.

I've never shot a Beretta I did'nt like. Another nice small carry piece. (Like I need another one.)

    Great rifle!
I believe Kasey had this or a similar rifle listed a few weeks ago.
I love the hammer forged barrel! I recently bought one that I believe is a little older with a nice Leupold scope and double set triggers and no "hogs back" stock
I believe that's what that style stock is called.
The only thing I'm disappointed in, that the magazine is plastic.
I bet this one sells for $1500.00 or more.

I prefer the .338 Lapua. It has more range in more accuracy

I think comparing a 338 Lapua to a 338 Win Mag is like comparing apples to oranges.

338 anything might be a bit harsh on Squirrels and rabbits. [}:)]

I didn't say I was comparing the two, I just said I preferred the .338 Lapua. Just like I prefer the .300 Win Mag to the .338 Win Mag. And those two don't compare to each other either

They deserve a little harsh treatment.

I have a pear tree the squirrels pull the pears, take a bite and drop them for the deer and rabbits.

I would like to chain a tiger to the tree to take care of the squirrels.

I love that gun and if I was going to Africa to hunt it would my everyday gun.

I would love to have it but I am never hunting again. I have a 404 Jeffery rifle built on a Mauser magnum action if I need that much firepower. It was my goto gun.

I have hunted Africa in several countrys and this would be my goto gun for anything except Elephant, Hippo, Cape Buffalo or Rhino, everything else would be fine with this gun. Even picked shots on those it would be fine except getting around caliber restrictions.

In AK this would be the boss. I like a 375 but the 338 doesn't give up all that much and it is much easier on the shooter.

I cannot think of a better gun for Leopard or the big Antelope in Africa like Sable or Kudu. For sheep in the high country this would be awesome. The big cats would find this gun to be their death with proper bullets.

For Buffs in anything but a charge perfect.

I love these Steyr's they are so positive in their loading and ejection.

    What a great rifle!

Sorry to get wound up but there is nothing like a great rifle to make me happy!

BTW I have not shot an Elephant or a Rhino but I have been around when they were taken. I have shot a charging Hippo very scary.
