You are not going to believe these pictures shot N of San Antonio at
Camp
Bullis

YOU ARE JUST GOING TO DIE WHEN YOU SEE THIS ONE. I am sending you all
the
e-mails attached so you can read about it. This was shot yesterday or
today
at Camp Bullis which is one of the training areas connected to Fort Sam
Houston.

Jim is being told by Texas Parks and Wildlife that this appears to be
the
second largest deer (point wise) in the state of Texas. It is the
largest
in the last 100 years. Everybody and there dog is out at Bullis looking
at
this buck. Three taxidermy have asked to mount this for free. This
should
be in the papers soon.

We have had specialist stop to see the buck. One will measure again
today.
They say this could be the second largest score in Texas and maybe the
largest in the last 100 years. The head when mounted could be worth
about
$25K from what we are told.

Here is a buck of a life time. The buck was
seen by helicopter in the area
of gun stand #77. The pilot radioed to operations and reported that a
severely wounded buck (was dragging his hind section) was observed and
gave
the coordinates. Operations notified Andy and he responded with a small
search team. They found the buck and verified it was severely injured
(appeared to have a broken back). The search team destroyed the animal.
It
weighed 118 lbs; had a 21 3/4 inside spread; and, had 40 measurable
points. - Les

How do you spine shoot a deer and not recover it???? Even a poacher would take the head. Something stinks.

    UPDATE!!

Just talked to my huntin' buddy this morning. He's a salesman at the local Dodge dealership.By chance, just this week,he sold a new truck to a "Big Dog" over at Texas Parks and Wildlife. He's a director or somethin' over all the Game Wardens so I guess he should know. His story goes like this;(in a nutshell)

The deer was spotted by a crew in a helicopter(this was on a military base north of San Antonio BTW.)They told two civilians about it who were working back at the hangar. They in turn went out to find it.After finding it,and finding that it was having a hard time even getting around, wound up killin' it with the knife you see in the pictures.OK,so far so good.
After realizing that this deer would win any "big buck" contest in Texas, they decided to enter it in one.(I don't know which one,but I guess at this point it doesn't matter.)That's where it all went south.I guess in all their excitement, they never gave a thought to the fact that;1.They had no hunting licences,2.They were in a restricted area,3.I'm sure they were considered to be trespassing ,etc.etc.etc. They have at least $40,000 in fines to be proud of at this point. Can you say STOOOOOOOOOPID[?]

The deer's carcass BTW,has been sent to Texas A&M,and the antlers are in the posession of the fine folks at Texas Parks and Wildlife.[:D]
