Christmas cash?

Anybody else get some Christmas cash, and if so what gun/s are ya getting? My parents gave me a good chunk of change, so I headed to Gander Mountain yesterday. Ended up buying a Browning A-bolt Hunter in 30-06 (wood stock), and a 10-22, and a inexpensive scope for the 10-22. They are mounting and bore sighting both for free, I had a scope for the A-bolt. Going to pick both up this afternoon. Can't wait. 10-22 will go to the indoor range very soon, but it is going to be a while before I'll sit out at the outdoor range with the A-bolt.[:(] Anybody else?

If I can come up with some more money - it'll go for none other than another 10mm! [:D][:p]
One less to worry about, and would rather have that not hanging over my head than another gun. Maybe next year.

You should have more to show for it than I did from my back. [;)]

You can call that paragraph a mavelous example of cynicism, except that I've already had at least 2 positions here with bosses who were willing to bid on contracts they knew they could only deliver 6 months late, sue their own best customers, play golf or go to Hawaii just when a business proposal deadline was looming -- and on and on. God help Fort Wayne, because the bosses aren't going to do it. I was better off working with the Harvard * laudes and Oxford arrogants in Hollywood business offices -- I may have had to go from project to project with short famines in between, but at least I got to read scripts, eat Thai food and go to the beach once in a while. And work with a few people who were so smart and talented they didn't put any effort into worrying about their smarts or talent.
I guess you can tell I'm getting tired of this mess in NE Indiana. The guy who sank the last company I worked for? He's currently "in charge of" our new Innovation Center -- he couldn't find his a** with both hands. Sorry for the mini-rant. I guarantee you'd know if I was really out of sorts, because would be blistering in here by now.
So my money should go for survival, and I don't mean guns, though I may be able to peel off a sliver for a few little things... I'm already spending more than I should (more than zero) on gun bargains as it is, when they pop up. I can't rationalize searching for another one "just because it's Christmas." It's a good thing I don't have kids, I guess.

It sounds to me like you had the best use of your Christmas cash. [:)] My wife (of 13+ years) and I have been talking about kids, we are at the age (32 and 31) where we need to decide whether we ultimately want them or not...
If you send me an email I'll reply with a pic. And my advice is to have them. My wife and I were going to wait a couple more years until we were 30 or so too, but other plans were in the works for us. While I wouldn't have planned to have kids this soon, I wouldn't now trade it for anything. I can't tell you how much it changes your life. Sure the first month is bad with no sleep, but you figure out a routine after that. She's 10 months old now, and I can't imagine life without her.
There was a thread here a while back about someone talking about wishing that they had had kids. Maybe you could find it with a quick search. Anyway - I say go for it. For the most part, we all have way too much love and time to give to let some of it go to waste.
P.S. Sorry we've hijacked your thread Bsally.

Yeah, sorry bsally we totally took off with your topic.

God protect me from my friends, I can take care of my enemies...
Just as well... I should probably get my deep-carry CCW pistol first. Too many guns - WAY too little money!
It's not that I really feel the need for a .17 that bad.And I really don't have any use for one.Anything around here can be handled with a .22,or.410 unless it's farther off and then one of the various centerfires will get some action.I just figured that if I can find one in the right price range, then I'd be the first of my group to have one.[^]I'll wait and see, maybe they'll come up w/a .223 NEF or something I'll have more use for.
Happy New Year!!
