Dental insurance

I'm thinking its just cheaper to pay as you go, instead of buying dental insurance. Its just me and my wife ,were both over sixty years old. What do you think?

That works... till you run into one that only comes halfway out, and no amount of force will move it.

I've self insured for years. Cost of premiums. limits on what ins. would actually pay, etc., even in years with heavy dental bills I've been money ahead.

Most dental plans have a $1500 yearly cap plus the cost of yearly premiums, may be cheaper to pay as you go [;)]

dentisrs i know are trying to catch up with lawyers on the income/skill ratio amd are also a necessary evil...anyone aware of the outcome sure works at oral hygene & proper care to keep the tooth fairy at least a county away

Iam lucky, my wifes whole side of her family are dentist so I get free dental. My wife is a hygentist so I get free cleanings for life.[:D][:D][:D]

There are dental plans available(this is not insurance), but you need to check with your dentist to make sure they accept it. They work a lot like an HMO. I bought this last year and it has save me a lot more than what I paid for it, but dentist don't like it. Call and if they accept then it is their job to do the work.

Dental care with or without insurance is the new money grabbing business.All dental process have new and very costly names now along with special treatement plans thet keep you comming in every four months.

We have two free dental plans.Both are third world plans, maybe worse. I had a cap come loose, the third string dentist installed it backwards three times.I'm sure I'll be going back to the denist I had before I retired, and had great dental insurance.. If I pay cash he just might give me a break on the price.
