Actually, my ex-wife did when she worked at a small suburban bank. I drove by just before it happened and saw her boss and her closing up. Three guys ran in wearing ski masks and held them up at gun-point. I was carrying my 9mm in a shoulder holster and always wondered what I may have done if I had walked in. Since nobody got hurt, it all worked out OK. I wouldn't have cared about the money but I don't know if I would have tried to be protective of my then-girlfriend or if the robbers may have fired at me just for surprising them.

My wife was manager of Santa Monica McDonald's for a time...

    Was held up twice.

    First time was her eye-opener.

Second time, with much better situational awareness, wife called the Po-Po, and told them, "We are getting cased for a Hold-Up" - they replied, "If nobody is shot, threatened, or dead yet, we will not come"

Both times, was with sawed-off shotgun. Neither time was anybody hurt.

Nothing was ever resolved about either event.

Yep. Back in 1984, when I was 13 years old. Long story.

A junkie in Richmond, VA told me to give him my wallet because he had a gun in his pocket. I know a finger when I see one, so I gave him a quarter and a brief explanation of why he should never be seen in that neighborhood again. And, he wasn't.
