Added: I had a lot of watchers the first time around, but no bids, so I've lowered the starting price to see if that will generate any interest. This might end up being a long running auction.
If any of you folks know of any Remington-Keene collectors or fans, please pass the word to them for me about my auction. Many thanks to you folks for your viewing and any help!!!!

That is very nice. I have never seen one before.
Thank you for the nice comment, David!!! I'm glad that you enjoyed viewing it!
That is a beautiful gun, Kimi.
I might have to raise the reserve or just take it off auction since I'm beginning to have second thoughts about letting it go.
That is art!
Beautiful
I have never seen one before.
The history of it's stopping power & use reminds me of the early 1900's federal prison wall gun
the 1910 .401 auto loader.
VERY NICE Kimi!
Art at its best, Dennis. Thanks again for the notes!
As I stated in your last post on this rifle,I had no idea that anyone ever made a bolt action rifle WITH A HAMMER.... Very cool and I would suspect RARE..[^]
Thanks for both posts, too, Jeff!!!![:)]
There was one in the John Wayne film "Sons of Katie Elder'
..I'll have to watch for it. Usually, I ID the guns in westerns, but
I missed that one. ".....Katie Elder" has been on a lot lately.
..kimi, that's something I'd love to fondle while being afraid to do
so at the same time...[^]

[:D] You would truly enjoy the feel of this rifle, Dale! Especially how smooth and crisp that the bolt cycles! [:)]
It's great to wake up and check in to see more great comments about the old R-K! Ya'll are the best!

I'd encourage you to keep it unless you're really strapped for cash. I honestly don't think I'd be able to part with it!

I'm going to sleep on that thought tonight, and by morning I might at least raise the reserve. It is such a fantastic piece of American history that I told my son today that I might just keep it for him, as its popularity and value seems ensured.
Thanks for the thought and encouragement.
WOW, that is one beautiful gun with great documentation. I can say for sure that I have never seen a rifle like that. It has a really weird configuration to it and i love it. Wow, just wow. Oakie
[:D] Thank you Oak!!!!!!![:D]
Son's of Katie Elder is on the watch list, again.
What an amazing firearm. Like so many others, I've never seen nor heard of this rifle.
Son's of Katie Elder is on the watch list, again.
Thanks D! Where have you been keeping yourself old friend?! Hope all is well with you.

[:D] I see that you saw that $700.00 box GB auction, too, huh?! [:D] Actually the modern stuff can be had at a reasonable cost!!!![:D]
Added: And since you're such a good buddy...I'll throw in a full box of the old stuff too! True story! [:)]
That sure is a beauty Kimi ! Is there a story behind how it came to you?
THANKS!!!!!!!!!!
I wish there was a story to go with this old beauty, but the fellow that I got it from did not have any history on it either.
When the opening bid gets down to $100, I will be all over it. All I can afford just now after the Colt SAA.[:)]
Put that sweet thang on here so everybody can enjoy it, He Dog!!!!
Hang on to that for your family. It is to nice to part with.
