Great mod but make sure you have the PC power to run it. It's a little more rough on your system than just a strait game of battlefield 1942. I'm running a 1.3ghz cpu with a GeForce 2 64mb agp video card and I have to turn a lot of my video settings way down....although I don't notice much difference in quality it does take it's toll on your PC power when you turn up the settings.

The video card, is the device which typically plugs into an AGP slot (or PCI on older machines), then has a line-out to the monitor. Other machines have what is called integrated video; meaning that there is a chipset on the motherboard which contains the memory etc... for video functions.
Typically, a seperate video card is more efficient than onboard memory (which often borrows from your ram), but neither have any permanant storage capacity.
As a side-note, the computer the card I'm giving away used to be in was an XP-1700 (MSI Ultra motherboard and 256 DDR 2700 ram), with a 7500 rpm 40gb WD hard drive (2.5 meg cache), and it ran the game with most of the settings maxed out; so the card can definately make a difference. Heh, just to plug my giveaway [:D]
