Trail Cam for security At home

Would one of these work for security as far as taking pics of someone messing around a home. I am not a hunter. Do they make a noise when taking pics that would alert someone, I know there is an infrared model that a person may not be able to see a flash when triggered suggesstions on a model?

I just bought the cheapest ones I could find at Cabela's Bargain Cave, over a year or so. Average cost around $70 per. Yep, some of them have visible flashes, some of them are IR capable. I mounted a couple where they would be real hard to get to without tall ladders and climbing gear.
I use 'em. I have Four, covering most all my house, roof included.

A flash might send the crook running as long as they were not in a place that could be reached.
As a side note, I ended up picking up a system from http://www.smarthome.com As with anything that you buy online, if you see something you like at smarthome.com, see if you can find it for cheaper somewhere else. For what I bought, smarthome had the cheapest price. The system was also delivered quickly, AND I found an internet coupon (always look for these whenever you buy anything online) that gave me $10 off my purchase.
