Short barreled shotgun that isn't a NFA item.

Guy on a local facebook page has a shotgun with a 14 inch barrel that he says isn't a NFA item. Said its a pistol grip only shotgun that the cleared for as non NFA. Figured i would ask on here before searching through the google mess trying to find an answer.

Only one I know like that is one of those .410/.45 Colt Leinad double barrel "Handguns". Search it on the auction side and you will see it. Obviously it's not nfa because it shoots .45 Colt too...but not legal in certain States like CA.

I couldn't find much on Google either. Found some forum were people were stating that if built on a shotgun that was classified as a pistol and never had a stock on it you could have a shorter barrel but i thought all shotguns with less then 18 inch were NFA items.
