I'm thinking of buying one of because I gave my only sks to my brother and i got alot of 7.62x39 ammo in my safe. Which one should i get?

I think the SKS is the best all around firearm available for price, durability and reliability.

What's wrong with the Saiga? Their inexpensive, use the renowned AK action and have detachable mags and are tapped for mounting a scope. Seem nice too me?

Well I have put many rounds through both and would take the sks over the saiga anyday of the week.

(Plus you can stick things with that nifty bayonet [:p])

I have both Russian SKS's and a Saiga AK .308. They are all OK but, as above, my first love in a rifle was the Russian SKS and it has not changed. TallTLynn, nice to see you here. It is hot as hell in southern Missouri now.

I have both and prefer the SKS over the Saiga. An AK or MAC 90 are better IMO for roughly the same cost.
