Got a new old gun today

I got a new .303 Brit from my late great uncle joe today.This one means alot to me cause it was the first rifle I ever fired. It has
Sante fe model 1944 Golden state arms corp Pasadena Calif on it. He told me he got back in 58. Anyone know anything about it
