I can only speak about a .40 cal S&W Sigma I bought in 1993 and owned until 1998. It was undependable junk and I one day after it malfunctioned on me three times within 50 rounds at the police range I boxed it up and sent it back to S&W and they gave me retail credit for what I had paid for it in 1993 (this was 1998) and I paid a little extra and they shipped directly to me a S&W .40 cal all stainless (slide and frame) steel model 4013 (I think that "13" is the correct number, if anyone is interested I will get it out of the safe and check). I haven't checked recently but at one time you could buy a S&W Sigma cheap and this was a sign no one wanted one.

It was a mediocre attempt to take back some Glock market share. There are now much better options out there. Even the Steyr, but I like the looks of the XD quite a bit. Some guns are low-priced for a reason... and it ain't because the seller is deep discounting ... [:D]

I had one. Mine was in 9mm. Very reliable, once broken in (100-200 rounds). Fit my hand well, much better than the Glocks. The trigger absolutely sucked. Very stiff. I've heard you can use some of the aftermarket Glock parts to fix this, but I sold it before I got around to doing this.
