    Actually, the answer is simple. Driving liscense test should only be
    given in English in ALL states. No read, no write, no speak English,,,
    NO DRIVING LISCENSE.

    I read all the readers comments and all but a few believe that English is the only Official Language here in The United States.
    If they (Legal and Illegal Immigrants)can learn how to navigate here and learn how to use/abuse the System then they can, at the very least, learn English.

    Nothing po's me more than seeing my voting ballots or motor vehicle stuff in more than one language.

    And just what in hell good is a non english speaking person if in "push comes to shove" going to be worth in the military. They sit back and MAYBE learn the language in a few years? Possibly English is not our OFFICIAL LANGUAGE but it sure should be. Most all other countries that immigrated quickly learned our language. Granted, it does take a LITTLE inteligence to learn our language. But think about learning PRIOR to immigrating. I know if I was immigrating to another country I would first learn the language to become a useful person there.

    to have seen and read signs like those. You also missed such as "no Irish need apply" and "soldiers, keep off the lawn". These were in the
    "early days". But all learned English or spoke it. Big difference.
    Now, why bother to learn the language? Welfare and hospitals have to accept us no matter what.

    Has anyone ever even bothered to write their senador or congresista and demanded to make English as the one and only official US language? How about witholding your votes in return? How about keeping them in office or outsting them in return? Brass balls anyone? This would certainly put this argument to an end.

    Interesting to read (or in many cases, attempt to read) the comments of those clamoring to see English named the official language of the U.S.

    I'm going to agree with all of you!

    Furthermore, in order to keep the language impaired riffraff out of this very thread, how about having the moderators delete the posts of anyone who fails to type in perfect, grammatically correct English?
