Auto Insurance

I've been with State Farm for 17 years and when I got my renewal statement in the mail today I decided to look for another provider.
Any recommendations?
I'm checking progressive and Allstate right now, progressive seems okay price wise, Allstate needs a faster webserver. [:D]
The few claims I have had over the years State Farm handled well, but it seems to me I should be getting more discount from them for having a number of policies and being claim free for at least 6 years now and that one was just a windshield.

I was thinking today, I have had comprehensive coverage for about 20 years. In that time I have had one accident that was my fault, and insurance paid out $3500 in that time. Over the span of coverage I have paid easily over $20k for insurance.

I'm thinking I'd be way better off just keeping liability to cover damage or injury that I have caused and put the difference into a seperate savings account to pay for any damage to my own vehicle if the time comes.

Anyone else done this? I guess the only trick is to be lucky enough to not get in a wreck you cause until you've got enough in there to cover replacement of what you are driving, and have the discipline to not touch that account for the same amount of time.

Ask your agent if you qualify for the mutual side of State Farm. The cost can be a lot lower.

Progressive is owned by an anti-gun, dope smoking. liberal jerk.

Talk to your agent. Not so hot on Progressive- check their claims service. Amica had excellent customer service rating recently. If you are a current or former officer of the US Military, check USAA.

Try Electric Insurance www.electricinsurance.com or call 1-800-342-5342

I've been with them for over 25 years and no one has ever come close to beating their rates (provided you have a good record).

I know Farmers is a bear to deal with of someone they insure hits you. It is like being at a gunshow, yours is only worth 8 cents, and you go to court to get what is fair. I do not know if they treat there customers the same or not, but I would not be surprised.

    LIBERTY MUTUAL
I was cancelled from allstate for a couple tickets and Liberty Mutual picked me up with a friendly/no problem attitude and have been the best insurance service I could ask for. Very easy to get along with and never come at me in the rude/ careless ways I have had from other major insurance companies.
The funny thing is Allstate sends me stuff all the time trying to get me back and quote savings but it was their attitude that keeps me from ever going back. Friendly honest service is more valuable to me then saving a few dollars.

Check with your agent since you been with them that long because you may be under there lifetime policy where they wont ever cancel you. They dont offer this option anymore and is well worth it. It was only offered on there auto insurance.[:)][:)]

If you qualify for it, USAA. Best service, very good prices.
