Are pre-ban hungarian receivers really worth this much?

Maybe if he cuts his price in half I'll think about it, and even then I'd still be leery.[B)]

Seems high, maybe it is because of the caliber?

I'll be watching this, but it definately seems high to me.

    Please advise.

It definitely isn't because of the caliber. It's the standard round for the AK-74, Krinkov, and all its variants and what not. Supposedly 5.45x39 is vastly superior to the 7.62x39 and even the 5.56x45.

I would be willing to bet the farm he doesn't sell it at that price!

All I know is that auction has been relisted over and over again for at least a year.

A preban FEG (Hungarian) AK as imported by Kassnar generally moves in the $1500 range (they were $300 dealer way back when) for the fixed stock- which is actually less common- and a little more for the folders. Add on about $400 for a Krinkov kit, then factor in the gun smithing charges plus a little extra profit for something out of the ordinary and there you have it: $2300+.

Fair enough. Never knew a Hungarian receiver was worth that much. You learn something new everyday I guess [:D].
