    At least twice that if they did a good job sporterizing

    If the work is good and the rifle is still in good shape $200 is a good price, a little to the low side but not to the point where you are stealing it. Without seeing it going on prices in my area I'd say $250-300. Of course with that said if it was in top condition and still original I think it could be worth more than $300.

    Pa years back I had a chance to buy a 03A3, mossberg 16 ga pump, and a 30 40 Krag nice sporter we went over to look at them and I had enough to pick up 2 of them. Took the 03 and mossberg and just about talked my self into the 30 40 instead of the shotgun. But thought well I could use the shotgun for dove hunting, till this day I have the 03 sold the mossberg the next year and regreat not picking up the 30 40. Get it NOW!

    Ma, think of it as an investment. After that old fart keels over you'll be able to sell that Krag off for much more than he paid for it. Probably a lot better investment than the Yuengling Mutual Fund he keeps swearing by[;)]

    We could just say "I'm holding it for you". I would never sell it and you could borrow it any time you wanted to. Hell, I'd even send you pictures of it every Christmas so you could see that I was taking good care of it. If I ever passed, I would leave it in my will to you. [8D]

    Pa;
    Are all those guns for sale?? If yes get the info on that Marlin in the bottom of the pic. The krag looks just like my geat grandpas NRA sporter from the 1920's. Buy it!!! Run, don't walk, just buy it!

    If you get it don't ever take it to a public firing range. There are evil people there who will offer you more than you can resist. That's what happened to the first two I had. The good news is that what I made on those more than paid for the one I have now plus the reloading dies & brass. I never paid more than eighty-five for any of them.
    Now you can have the pleasure of figuring out how to take the bolt apart & many more hours of fun figuring how to put it back together.

    So many guns-so little money. I love Krags-around my neck of the woods they start about $450.00 and go up.
