Anyone out there have a HK P9S and if so how do you like it. Any Pros/Cons? If you had to compare it in size to a more modern day semi-auto what would it be? How's the accuracy? thanks

    I have a few...[;)]

My favorite automatic. Very accurate even in .45. They are sorta rare, especially the P9(without the "S").

Parts are expensive and hard to find, but they are beauts...

And the crown jewel, one of about 250, the P9.

If you just want to hear about how great they are go here http://hkpro.com/forum/index.php

A good deal on a P9S right now is about $550. I'm personally a fan of most HKs, but there are plenty of good guns that can be had NIB for the price of a used P9S. The P9 series are highly reliable, accurate, and very light recoil in the 9mm and 45.

If you like the guns looks, and want something with a bit more style than a NIB vanilla semi auto, buy it. If you are just looking for a reliable inexpensive gun there are better options.

There were only 485 P9 (non-S models) produced form 1969 to 1978, and the most rare is the 7.65mm x 21.5 version of which only 24 were made.

The P9S (S stands for Spannabzug meaning double action trigger) is much more common and equally more affordable.

Thanks for correcting my numbers, it's been awhile!

You can spend a lot chasing the P9S family, especially the Target model in .45. You won't find one of those for $500. The $500 variety are usually police turn-ins in 9mm combat trigger. Still nice guns. I bought a used police gun a couple of years back, and it is pictured above.

    Sweet shooters. I haven't shot a .45 auto that I like better. In 9mm I prefer the P7...

I had one years ago in 9mm. Great gun.
The only problem I had was the rounds would spill out of the magazine every once in a while. The single stack mag was most likely the reason. Other than that, no problems.
I like my USP45C much better.
