my vote is for Hardcastle and McCormick.
Always liked that show. Never got the respect I thought it deserved.
What's your pick?

my pick is Married With Children
Poor compared to the original show and horrible compared to the remake, but if you look at what they were going for- a family show bringing in some sci fi elements without overwhelming, interesting to kids and adults alike- it was really quite good. [:)]
Galactica 1980.

it has something in common with the remake: 80% of the cast wore contemporary clothing off the shelf at the mall [xx(]
the remake surpassed them in stupid in terms of taking unmodified Earth firearms and pretending that the audience is too stupid to spot them [xx(][xx(]

My favorite was when Cliff was saying how beer makes ya smarter [:D]
Goes like this .
A herd of buffalo can move only as fast as the slowest buffalo.
When the herd is hunted, it is the slowest and the weakest ones
at the back that are killed first. This natural selection is good for
the herd as a whole, because the general speed and health of the whole group
keeps improving by the regular culling of the weakest members.
In much the same way, the human brain can only operate
as fast as the slowest brain cells. Excessive intake of alcohol, we all know,
kills brain cells, but naturally it attacks the slowest and weakest brain cells first.
In this way, regular consumption of beer eliminates the weaker brain cells,
making the brain a faster and more efficient machine.
That's why you always feel smarter after a few beers.
It's still on some channels .
Joanie loves Chachi [:D]
why is there always one smartass that responds with that answer to this most serious of all questions?
These 2 come to mind...
moonlighting
Dallas
love boat and fantasy island were certainly in there as well.
(Certainly not my favorites but I had to watch a lot of them.....)
(Oh and Jeopardy at my now MILs house. (every night....... )

I like that show, being I spent most of my time overseas, my folks
would send me vhs tapes, so I got to see some recent shows.
the military television service was ok, but I always loved to get the tapes, while I was in Germany my dad sent me 2 tapes of Hogan's Heroes. my German landlord sat down with me, I brought the beer, he got the brats, we sat there and watched Hogan's Heroes. He laughed his * off
China Beach
A-Team
Blue Thunder
Simon and Simon
Riptide
Moonlighting first seasons a close second.
Brad Steele
Tour of Duty
China Beach
+1 on both of those

Sorry, I was wrong. I meant to say this one. [;)]
"Mancuso, FBI" with Robert Loggia
Cybill Shepard was something in "Moonlighting" days [:p]. Then Dana Delany in "China Beach" damn [:p]. I seen her in "Castle" last year and she still looks good.
Also no one said "Magnum P.I." yet or "Miami Vice". I reckon y'alls are lacking sleep [:D].
The funniest show I ever saw was Mork and Mindy. Robin Williams was hilarious and it was the best way I ever saw a comedian able to turn his act into a tv show...followed by Home Improvement.
BJ and the Bear (started in '79)
Riptide
Automan

Sledge Hammer![:D]
what can I say I love stupid humor and I loved that show. IIRC his dad's name was Arman, I can't remember his mom's name but it was something along that line as well.

Man do I see that 180.
I think the way the new version kept everything as relate-able (I know its not a word) to our time a brilliant idea. There were no space monsters or weapons without known technical data we know would work. No Star Wars/trek fantasy weapons just the real stuff we know.
IMO that was/is one of the best shows ever done in any media whereas I thought the 80's version was a waste
As for 80's shows I would rate
Cheers
Alf
Married with Children as the best with China Beach the class act for serious TV drama.
Wulfmann
"Fools learn from their own mistakes. I learn from the mistakes of others"
Otto von Bismarck
Tour of Duty
and one of my favorites Alf!

I thought Armin was his mother, and daddy was Jack, GGGfather was a pirate,.... Claw.
Trust me I know what I'm doing. [8D]
Also remember watching Night Court, and Married with Children.
Gotta give thumbs up to the Bundy family though.
