I posted the pictures she sent to me. I'm not sure if that's factory engraving but it's very nice and high quality. I think it would definitely be worth getting a factory letter to find out for sure. The grips were added by her grandfather in 1970. I'll defer to your opinion.
It has features of a Storekeeper's model but also those of a flattop target model. Please take a look.
If you're too modest to submit yourself, I'll be happy to "get er done".

I agree with both your condition and value assessments; although the SAA might not reach the 3K mark, but close and who knows!
If you can't feel the music; it's only pink noise!
Spider, I missed the pictures you posted and see the thread is now locked. Based on what I see in the photos I would tend to think the Single Action's grips are bone and they've been on the gun a long time.

Well, being an antique .45 Colt SAA, I figure it will do pretty close to that. Thanks for backing me up.
agree with SAA cost, but I think the army will go for closer to $2500 with the box and letter.
but i've been wrong before![:)]
the army is in a period correct box with accessories but the SAA looks like it's in a dual presentation box. I wonder what the other revolver is/was that was original to the box.

I couldn't see the lock and joints so I wasn't sure if it's an original box or not so I just valued the gun. The ivory grips are probably worth as much as the revolver.
I don't know what the other revolver is but looking at the cheezy "case colors", it looks like a Ruger Vaquero or Colt Cowboy.
