Nuthin'else need be said.
As an RSO I see too many Kimber less than 5" 1911s fail (most because they require a 250 round break in that Sig does not)
Though not a fan of smaller than gobmentninelevens but recently bought a Sig 1911 RCS.
It is such a sweet shooter and 100% reliable with any ammo.
As a test I loaded 2 Trip mags with 14 rounds of HP ammo each round a different type and all ran through perfect.
So, I guess it is possible to build a hollow point shooting reliable commander (My old Colt shot ball 100% but don't even think to ask it about a HP)Other than that it was fine, other than that, the unacceptable won't shoot HPs

I'm partial to those made by a grumpy ol' buzzard in a deep dark cave on the side of a mountain !!!!![:D][}:)][:o)]
I'm gonna have me one of them one day... [;)]
I think, dollar for dollar, the best gun out there is he Ruger 1911.
I've owned every thing from a totally worn out military Remington Rand to a Wilson. Out of the box reliability, function and fit, go to the Ruger, unless you want to pay $3000 for a Wilson.

The grip and feel is awesome, the texture feels like it would take a freight train to knock it out of a hand.
That being said, I have fired my Buddy's Sig 1911 and I certainly can not find any fault with it either......so I am no help at all.

nether, sigs have external extractors, kimberII have Swartz safeties, I highly despise both features
Don't know much about the new fancier stuff. My concealed carry on most days is a Colt Government model, series 70. No upgrades, aside from some fake ivory grips. Owned, and carried this gun, since 1976, when I bought it new for $180.00, with money I earned hauling hay. My father had to sign for it, as I was not 21. Man uses the same gun, for 38 years, is likely to know how to use it. And I do. Carry it cocked and locked, right hip, with a spare magazine in my back pocket. She ain't pristine, she shows signs of carry, but she's been a comfort to me in a few situations where comfort was hard to come by.
Jus'bout all you could ask for Dan... [;)]

A real 1911. No air-cooled trigger. No tractor fenders. Looks like the ones I shoot, which look like the ones I had stuck in all of my fatigue pockets about 50 years ago. [:)]
I have a sig tac-ops.

I too have a Sig Tac ops and it is. as you described, awesome
From the first round on it shoots everything and accurately.
I had an earlier Kimber 5" and it was also 100% and I regret letting a friend talk me out of it.
I also have 3 of the Filipino made 1911s (AKA RIA) and while not as accurate as my Sigs all 100% would bet my life on them.
Rifle pistol shotgun all I expect from each of them is 100% reliability and do as designed or no matter how shiny they are history
