Ketchup on a dog? Hell, I put ketchup on ketchup. But then, I love peanut butter and mayonnaise sandwiches too. To each his own, if you want to put grape jelly on your hot dog, I'm all for ya!
On a dog, no. But a grape jelly and ham sandwich is great. Salty, savory ham and a sweet go together wonderfully, as anyone would realize if they've gotten some of their maple syrup on ham while eating pancakes.
Awright, who's the John Heinz Kerry shill, trying to foist rotten tomatoes on unknowing innocent children?!
Hot dogs are essentially meat slurry in an intestine; I see no need to reinvent the inevitable with ketchup added.
IF I were to stoop so low as to eat a hot dog, it would only be with White Vermont Xtra sharp Cheddar shreds, Nathan's hot mustard & a sliver of roasted/peeled green chile. Or fresh sauerkraut with Chile and Gorgonzola.
You Nathan's fans better check your weiners for bits of metal!

A grilled cheese using Velveeta and grape jelly is good too. Heck, my uncle used to (probably still does) put grape jelly on pork chops. Never tried that one, but it does sound a bit enticing for some reason.[:)]

Friend of ours puts grape jelly in her party meatball sauce. It is surprisingly good.

I go with what ever, for eating hot dogs from just cold right out of the fridge and pack no bun or toppings to loaded with chili onions mustard cheese relish and so on . I will put a small amount of ketchup on rare occasions on a hot dog not often
however I put it out with every thing else from the fridge I think some one may like if I make hot dogs for anyone else
but like I stated in the fist line the dogs and I just eat them right out of the packs no preparation [B)] just as is for a late night snack ( I even buy 3 or 4 packs a week just for the dogs )
FYI
Weiners are pre cooked but recommended that you boil or grill. Listeria can be present.
