I got a devastating call today from my sister. My best friend, my BIL had a really bad heart attack last nite. The doctor described it to her as 'if the heart is California, I-5 shut down'. This fella is so important to our family. We have always joked to my sister, if anything goes wrong you're out he stays. He's been my deer and fishing partner for 30 yrs, and no finer partner exists. I sat for awhile thinking of our adventures over the years and I feel like crying, and I don't cry. Big or small, whenever a problem happened in our lives, he has always been there ,for my Mom, Dad and me. She said no sense coming down tonite, he's heavily sedated and will be out all nite, but I'm going tomorrow to pick sis up and go see him at 9. He did two tours in Viet Nam in the navy on a resupply ship and then went into corrections at one of the tougher prisons, where he was known as the one of the fairest, but toughest. I am having a hard time dealing with this ,but will know more tomorrow.

Hard when such an important person has things happen to them.
Chance are he will pull through this. With all the medical procedures they can do on hearts now.I had a mild heart attack last March and had a by pass.In a couple of months 3 of the 4 by passes closed off and the docs put a couple of stents and a angioplasty and I am careful with the diet and try to get daily exercise but am fine now.Hope for the best for your BIL.
Yes. The key phrase here is "careful with the diet." Try to walk past the bacon, pork roast, and really any kind of meat. Keep the daily calorie count south of 2000. Walk a lot if you have the room to do it.

Good thoughts and Prayers from TN.
Hey, he's laughing. That's a good sign, and sounds like me. [:D]
