For Christmas, my grandfather gave me a Mossberg Modell 88, 12 ga. He bought it in 92, it has never been fired!!!!!!!( until last saturday, that is) Not that I am complaining, but it only holds 3 shells, 1 in the chamber and 2 in the tube. Is there anyway to alter this so I can put in 5 or 6 shells at a time?

OK I have 2 of the Maverick 88's same as the Mossberg.
But mine are the ones with the pistol grip & 20" long barrels.
The shell tube on mine is a full 20" long, if yours is the same, it more than likly has a plug in it, which is removed by unscrewing the end cap of the shell tube and removing the plug.
Mine I "THINK" holds 1 in the chamber & 6 or 7 in the tube of 2 3/4's
You should be able to pickup a tube somewhere & just slap it on.
Beware list on the Mod 88's are around $150 when new.

The one I recieved has the rifle type stock and the pistol grip. It also has 2 barrels, 18 1/2 " and the other is 24"(I think).
I will try removing the end cap on the shell tube and see if there is a plug in it.
    Thanks for the info
