Only four guns?

If you could have only four guns what would they be? My choices would be: Ruger 10/22, Remington 870 12ga., Glock 17, and Remington 7400, or Browning BAR, in 30-06. I haven't decided for sure on the last yet.

I guess. But for me, I'd have to have a 12ga in there somewhere.

When I posted this I was thinking mainly about four different calibers of firearms: .22, 9mm, 30-06, and 12ga. These four seem to be the most readily available of all.

    In order:

Benelli Super Black Eagle 12 gauge
    Remington 700 in .300 Win
    Glock model 20 in 10mm
    10/22

That is the list of what is legal, and of what I have. In an unlimited category, there'd be a HK MP5-SD in 10mm on there and a Barrett .50 BMG instead of the Remington and the Glock...

I hate these threads that make you choose one of your babies over another[:(][:(][:(]

    1)Busmaster XM-15/JP Enterprise/DPMS "The Mongrel" (Hello 7mm nut[;)])
    2)Remington 700 VSSF Customized .308
    3)Kimber Stainless Polymer .45ACP
    4)Browning Signiture .22

I picked these for accuracy, reliability, ammo availability and parts availability ... Some of my others I have did not rate as high in the "most essentially basic" areas of concern ... (ie) My Steyr SSG is a little more accurate than my Remington, but replacement parts and mags are much more difficult to come by ... Remy wins ...

Hello, the best ones would be those chambered alike (i.e. 94 and SAA in .45 Long Colt, or .357, ETC.) that way you only need to stock up on ONE type of ammo. But you still need the shotgun of some sort. 12, 16, 20, or 28 gauge (.410 doesn't count unless you are using it just for survival, but you already have three other guns to use). If only they made a good (not too expensive) rifle in .45ACP, I'd be all set. Not the 1927 either. I was also only listing the guns I currently have. I would also like to have my Ruger Security Six .357 Mag., Glock 27 .40 S&W, and Taurus 445 DAO .44 Special (non-ported). But including the others, that is more than four.

Yup, APTBlover, you're right ... SupremeOne had called for a Model 94 in 30-30. One sweet carabine! I'm still going with 94's all the way.

I think I read recently that almost ANY current (or even older) deer rifle will get the job done. If you're a little tight on cash, you should put it into optics and not the gun. Probably good advice ... but I still buy cheap scopes! Will I ever learn?

Maybe some more effort into practice would be a good idea, too!
