there are a few members on the board here that i hold in high esteem. these gentlemen have earned my respect through word and deed. I know why i respect them, and it varies with each person.
are there any members here you respect more than others?
I will refrian from listing them until i get a few replies, just to see if others think the same way i do.

By the way Chris, you're one of those I respect, and so is Michelle.

Empty the clip!
Do you mean "this gentleman" (singular) or "these gentlemen" (plural)?
I respect a lot of people here, even though some of 'em are piss poor spellers[;)]

There are many people on here who know a lot more than I do and for that they do get my respect, especially the way they handle themselves when answering a question.
One who comes to mind is Mark Christian.
There are others, Thank you for a nice forum.

PS: I like to think of it not so much as respecting some members more, just disrespecting them less (see Pawn, less stroking that way[;)])

I would have to say that I have a great respect for this forum in general. And while I do have a high respect for many of you, there is one person that takes the cake. But I am really growing to love this place. And it's members.

I love myself and so should you!

My opinions and knowledge have all been effected by every single member of this board.
Thank you all for the input.

And just being the nice good people your are will get you my respect.

No different than in our day to day lives. I sure don't have the same opinions with everyone I'm around every day.
This is a mind expanding group,
or is that another way of saying
opening a can of worms ? [:D]
I know,..that assumption is probably a little over board on my part. I do respect your opinions and more importantly your resolve in standind behind them under the fire that can be directed around here. I guess we are not that different in some ways.......[;)]

My heros have always killed cowboys.
I have developed respect for many of the members, and a dislike for about 4 members. I would say that is pretty good numbers for a group of this size.

The member who responds with logic, reason, and passion wins out over the numbskulls who use threats, insults, and personal attacks.
The member who thinks for him or herself and actually has his or her own opinion gets my attention far better than the bleating sheep who repeat the party line ad nauseum.
The member who is open to other opinions but not easily led by pretty words and slick promises has my respect.
The member who has compassion for others but is no one's fool is okay in my book.
And last, but definitely not least, those members who have served our country in times of peace or war have not only my utmost respect, but my admiration as well.

Regards,
Bullies don't care if they are liked or not. They just want to be feared. I guess this is their type of respect. Some on this forum use the mask of user-names to bully others and degrade their fellows on the forum. (An example would be someone that jumps on me for using the word fellows, like it excludes females). You may have noticed some people being bashed for bad spelling also.
To me it is still a manhole cover and mankind is everyone on earth.
I have had some heated exchanges with several people here and have also had some pleasant conversations with others.
I have learned a lot and have gotten advice and support and sometimes recieved lets say corrections to my thoughts.
As to respect, I would have to agree with a lot of what EMM said, lots of people here with differing ideas and opnions on a variety of topics. I rarely agree with some and almost always agree with others. Does that mean I respect thsoe I agree with more than those I dont? No it does not.
I have the utmost respoect for those that hold firm a belief and stand by it, as long as they dont codemm others for holding a differing view.
There are several here whom I like a great deal and would go back to back with at anytime, anyplace; people like jjmitchell60, DWS, and Elect1mike to name a few.
There are others here that even though I dont agree with their philosiphy I would be proud to call them a friend; People like Saxon, ElMuertoMonkey,Whiteclouder and others.
There are also a few I dont really like (at lest based on what limited contact I have with them here) but I still respect them for sticking to their guns. It takes a man to speak his mind and then stand behind what he says; People like Faldum come to mind.
Then there are those that I just have to read their post cause you never know whats going to be in it, could be serious, funny, political, informative or all of the above; people like PAbooger, Blackroses, drobs, and William81 stand out here.
We have a wide range of age, intellect, life experiences, income, geocultural backgrounds and firearms experience here on this board and you have to respect that.
Every single member here (trolls excluded) should be respected for speaking thier mind , sharing their thoughts, their frailties, their wisdom and even their sorrows with all of us.
when I use the term "man' I also mean the ladies here, for they give the place a touch of home and a modicum of decorum. Not to mention the fact that some of them know more than us boys about firearms and hunting.
I know I left out names here but I did not mean to list everyone on the board, I just wanted to list a few examples of the kind of people I see here and why I respect each of them though I may disagree at times with what they have to say.
I said it before and I will say it again, this board has the absolute best group of people I have found on any board on the internet. I consider you all to be people that I would be proud to introduce as someone I respect.

We don't need no stinkin' hugs or songs.
The fact is that some posters (mostly new ones, including trolls) disrespect the others but by far this is like a family and some of us like it that way.
Of course, there are some ol' timers that will never be our friends until they meet us and have some ribs/chicken/corn/beer with us

of respect going in(after all,I don't know
anyone at first),but, as time passes,my respect
grows for some, stays the same for others, and
decreases(or goes away completely)for the rest.
