Buy a Gun Because you have ammo already?

They other day I bought a 410 shotgun just because I was given some ammo for one a couple years ago. I didn't want to shoot what I was given because they were paper hulls and I figured they would be neat to have because they are from the same era as the Gun(50's). I went to buy some more, and found out how incredibly expensive these little buggers are to shoot.

Any one else done something crazy like this?

    I hope I never get bitten by this bug. After every body sent me ammo for my collection. I would have to win two lotterys to aford it.

    I've always gone by the philosphy that you can never have enough scopes, gun cases or holsters because you can always find a gun that will make the perfect mate. I've never taken that approach to ammo. I suppose it's because buying a box of ammo is too easy and it would necessitate buying so many guns that I can't afford. I'd be toast as soon as I bought a few rounds of .50 BMG.

    I'm in the market now for a 1st model S&W hand ejector .32, just because I bought the left over inventory of an out of business gunshop. And I managed to aquire almost 500 rds of S&W longs and 32 Colt New Police ammo. I figure one of those little "I" frome guns would make a neat kit gun that I could reload for.

    So when I find one the answer will be yes. But, I can do one better. I once bought a gun because I had a set of reloading dies for it. Didn't have any brass or ammo. I've since sold the gun, but, kept the dies. So I may be in the market for a 7mm mauser one of these days too.

    Last time I was home I bought a Rem 700 BDL Varmint in 22-250 because I had Dies for it, Does that count.

    Built a tack driver Bushmaster XM15 target match, loaded 1K+ special rounds for it, Sierra bthp 69g (at .17 cents per head), tested the gun, sold the gun without the ammo.

    Ammo layed around for year, bought the gun back for the sale price, it was never shot by the buyer.

    I find my self getting holsters before I have something to put in them. That reminds me, I need to go buy some FNFAL mags & some HK mags. Might as well get them when they are cheap. Don't have either rifle but maybe get the mags would help me focus.

    How about:

    15-20 round boxs of 30-06 Winchester Fail Safe 165 Gr. (I only paid $8.95/box)
    25-CETME 20 round mags
    3-Glock 40 High cap dropfree Mags
    3-Glock 40 High cap Non-dropfree Mags

    This is all for stuff that I plan to buy and have found good deals on.

    By the way if you married guys are thinking how did I get this past a wife, it's easy I'm not married and the girl I'm seeing doesn't know how much stuff I have.

    Guilty also, I just bought a case of .380 because it was a good price and I am still waiting for the gun to arrive.
