Hell I know. I could run Dachau for Democrats, but I couldn't run an animal shelter.

We were at the shelter last weekend looking at some puppies they had, I finally had to explain to her that taking on a puppy right now would be totaly unfair to the puppy and the work required would just be too much.

Looking at the adult dogs I had a heart sinking moment, they have a Husky sled dog in there, that poor thing wouldn?t look at anyone, just stood there staring at the floor. Tried talking to her, give her a treat and all she would do is stand there, that poor dog had been abused and is scared. I was ever so close to having a truck buddy but I had to put the emotions on check, we have too many fur babies right now.

    Yes Sir.

My last two dogs have been Rescue Animals. (They know, and reciprocate, kindness/love twofold if not more.)

My current dog, is (by far,) the BEST dog I have ever owned.

If you can find it in your Heart to adopt one. You will not be sorry.

we have 5 dogs one from the shelter and 4 from people who bought them then decided a few weeks in no way we took them in [:(]
I know if we ever won a big lottery we would have a huge shelter for unwanted pets
as now we have 5 dogs and 20 cats that's about all I can afford to keep up on all were fixed on my dime and see the vet as needed

I had to put down a larger size Chihuahua I rescued about four and half years he was an ok dog just different must have had a terrible prior life, I gave him a good ending. Couple days later my Lady Friend talked me into going to a shelter, there in a run was a Chihuahua and something mixed looking out with the look of take me home so we did. That happened on the 26th of August and he is developing into one great animal and companion. One of my better moves and if something happens to me she is going to take him so no more shelter

all the shelter dogs we have brought home and let them enjoy a long well loved life have been great .
Betsy we rescued two years ago is a very smart gal she sleeps in my room the other dogs in my wifes room ( side note wife and i both snore so it was a easy decision to have separate bed rooms ) .
as for the dogs its almost like the realize you did save them and they want to return the favor in loyalty and affection .

as stated if only we had the money and place we would be over run with rescued pets . but we can only do a small part as our share

every dog i have ever had, (quite a few) have been un-wanted or abused anmials that found their way to me

one of them that was TAKEN from our yard (i know not a run away cause couple times she got out and sat by the door till we came home, wouldnt even go in the neighbors house when coaxed with treats)
and during the long search checked the local shelter...

HUGE shep snarling at the wire
stopped and talked to him as i have a serious soft spot for gsd's, and in minutes went from the sniff through the wire to reaching through and giving love
guy works their almost had a coronary when he walked by
"we lock him outside to clean inside, in when we clean outside cause he's so vicious!"
not vicious, mis treated and scared, wanted to give him a home but he was on a court ordered destroy for an attack
wish i could have saved him, and really wish for 10 minutes with whoever made him like that! [:(!]

I can't watch five seconds of that video it just breaks my heart. I love all the doggies and the cats too.

ditchrunner I am with you, if I won the lottery I would buy 200 acres and set up the finest animal shelter you ever saw.

We don't have any pets now but when I come in off the road, I told the girlfriend, on day one she better get down to the shelter and get us a dog, because if I have to go down there on Day 2 I will get 3 of them.

I couldn't even walk into a shelter, knowing that, in a week half of those doggies will be killed. Breaks my heart.
