Ridin the storm out

Had a wild one this morning.
I knew from the weather reports when I left Tulsa that I was driving into possible severe thunderstorms in Kansas. Managed to stay just ahead of them until I got to Pittsburg. Got the last stop off and it hit just as I was closing the truck door.
Before I got 2 blks I knew it was a BAD ONE. Probably a tornado. I've been thru a few near misses w/tornado's while trucking. And this was a carbon copy.
Made it into a nearby Truckstop, parked facing into the wind, and shut down to wait it out. Sat and watched the Truckstop sign and several buildings in the next door moble home lot get obliterated. While listen to radio reports of a tornado that had passed over us being tracked just east. And of trucks being blown over on several area highways.
Pulled out 1.5 hrs later after it was mostly passed. Devistation from 80MPH straight line winds was everywhere. Looked like a tornado had hit for 40 miles. Nearly every house had roof damage. Farm sheds destroyed. Signs, power line poles & trees blown over. Trucks laying on their sides. Debris of all kinds in the road.
In nearby Joplin Mo. even a TV tower was blown over.
Yep, we had a bad one today.
