1911A1s - a pair - which one??

It looks like I will start to rebuild (version 4.0) my firearm collection pretty soon.

Do you think it would be wise to wait until I can afford a Colt pre-Mark IV, or get a cheap one as soon as I can ??

I still have my daily carry guns, so that isn't an issue.

Help me out, you bright folks.

Thank you.

Doug

    it depends. if you:

    a) want a cheep, ugly but fuctional gun to sling lead downrage with, go with cheap and now.

    b) want a gun of high quality, which will increase in value and be a proud addition to your collection, save the coin and buy the high quality piece.

Have you looked at Springfield Armory? Kimber?

It depends on the nature of your collection, but my .02, buy guns that you want, and will enjoy regardless of the cost. You will never be satisfied by going the cheapest route.

    That's the way I'll go, but I sure would like a 1911A1 now !!

What's wrong with the Mark IV Colts? I have two of them and have been 100% happy with both.

I have no problem with the Mark IVs. I've had a few of them, but I'm pretty sure I want a pre-Mark.

    Why ??

Do you have a Mark for sale, cheap ??
