Winchesterr Ammunition is pleased to announce the new Theodore Roosevelt commemorative ammunition line. Celebrating 150 years of Roosevelt's influence and achievement as arguably the greatest conservation hero North America has ever produced. He was a champion of hunting and wildlife conservation.

The Theodore Roosevelt cartridges feature a nickel-plated shell casing bearing a special Roosevelt head-stamp in three popular calibers: .30-30 Win., .45 Colt and Roosevelt's favorite big bore lever-gun round, the .405 Winchester. The most powerful cartridge ever chambered in a lever gun, the .405 was used extensively by Roosevelt during his 1909 - 1910 African safari. The .30-30 Win. rounds are loaded with 150-grain Power-Pointr bullets and the .405 Winchester with 300-grain jacketed flat point bullets: both are boxed in 20-round packages. The .45 Colt is loaded with a 250-grain flat nose lead bullet and comes in a 50-count box. All Theodore Roosevelt cartridges are packaged in collectible, foil-embossed boxes, each emblazoned with vintage Winchester artwork and photography.

Born in New York City on October 27, 1858, Roosevelt achieved fame as a hero of the Spanish-American War for helping organize and train the "Rough Riders." He served as a New York City police commissioner, a prolific author and was the twenty-sixth president of the United States, where he earned the Nobel Peace Prize for his work in resolving the Russo-Japanese War.

His politics were simple and straightforward, embodying the attitudes of hard work, American confidence, and most important to hunters and shooters, a modern-day conservation philosophy. Without Roosevelt, we would not be able to hike, camp, hunt and enjoy many of our national forests and parks.

The Theodore Roosevelt line of cartridges features:
Nickel-plated shell casing bearing a special Roosevelt head-stamp
    Collectible, foil-embossed boxes
    .30-30 Win. with 150-grain Power-Point bullets in 20-round box (X30306TR)
.405 with 300-grain jacketed flat point bullets in 20-round box (X405TR)
.45 Colt with 250-grain flat nose lead bullet and comes in a 50-count box (X45CBTR)

I've been looking for it myself. Checked several online sources with no success. Not at BassPro either. I was in the largest independent gunstore in the area just this afternoon and the only thing they had was the John Wayne commemorative--never even heard of the TR line. I'm starting to wonder if Winchester's not funning with us on this.

It is definitely a real product as indicated by the excerpt above. It was also advertised in the latest issue of Ducks Unlimited magazine. I have been looking on the net and locally and haven't had any luck. Just hard to find I guess.

It's funny that Winchester promotes them on their website as being available in March, 2008 but doesn't list them in their ammo section. Maybe they had production problems. You should e-mail them and ask them.

I've found 45 LC on the auction side, and .405 at Able's Ammo online, but can't seem to locate the .30-30 ANYWHERE!

    Anybody with any recent insight?

Cabelas has tons of it--I just bought some at the Lacey, WA store-also bought the commem. John Wayne ammo but for some reason they are not selling it through their website. I honestly don't know how collectible this ammo will be-I bought it just because I like the box and the people on them--I don't plan on shooting it so they are packed away in plastic bags. When both those items came out they were kinda pricey-now Cabelas has dropped the price--I picked up both boxes for $19.95 ea. The .44WCF and .45 Colt was really ridiculously priced so I have not bought those.

I just saw they are not listing the ammo on their website-but the store does have some--you will have to call the store and just ask for the gun dept.

Dang it. Just called Cabela's locally and they have NONE--same at BassPro and the other locally-owned gun shops. Some had the .405 but that was it. Am I going to out of luck all together? TR is my hero and I've been looking for this stuff in .30-30 for over a year! Dang it. Dang it. [:(][V]

just got a flyer from Cabelas today(june 23rd)--that ammo will be on sale again at $19.95(normally $32) next week, so if you have a cabelas nearby then stop in and get some as they don't seem to offer this ammo online.

They've been advertising with that in Denmark as well as the Hornady LeverEvolution in .30-30Win.

Since the market was running low, that shipment seems like it fell in a dry spot with the hunt going on.
