    yes they are legal, i owned one for a short time. they are a single shot. no they do not write, there is no pen in it. there were some aftermarket long barrels that you could attach a scope to it with. they are pretty big compared with a normal ball point pen and quite a bit more heavy.

    I'm sure you could probably get it parkerized for not a whole lot.


    On the question of wether or not it should be legal to own, I have to ask should .22's in general be legal? You can buy .22 pistols that are more concealable then that thing. Why punish someone who would use it in a lawful manner, just in case someone decided to use it in a crime? We already have laws to deal with criminals who violently attack or murder another. If someone wants to harm someone else and they dont have access to that thing, they'll just find another method if they're serious about it.
