POLL How many grease handgun rails? Or just oil?

My manual never said anything about grease, but a new gun came with a little tube, and I greased here and there.

Been years since I've used true grease, but graphite and now the new lubes like Breakfree are super.



If you only have time to do two things so-so, or one thing well ... do the one thing!

I only use oil on my Glock but my Kimber and my Buckmark both get a bit of grease that I got from militec and they are as smooth as glass.

My glock came with grease on the rails, so I still use white lithium on them. Seems to work great.

My polymer frames get the oil - steel frames get (a very little) grease.

To whom much is given, much is expected.

I use the military grease for the rails on all my semi-autos--pistols and rifles. Thsi is the grease that comes in those little plastic units with a yellow top. Works well.

I use just a touch of Outers Gun-Slick.
I don't think you can buy it anymore. When it's gone I guess I will use Hoppes Gun Grease

If you really want to see a difference use "ARMADILLO" by Blue wonder, ya dont have the mess of oil and grease. its a dry lube and is smooth as you could ask for.

Tetra Gun Oil goes on all my Handgun rails and also have never had a problem using the same oil in my AR type Rifles.
