Rail Covers

Well I finally have a gun with rails that I need covers for. I had an AR pistol that had rails and I used some solid covers.

Well I got an AR upper with rails on it that I need to cover. I have 2 choices and not sure which way to go. By using the full covers the grip becomes much wider. The other option are the "ladder" style covers. Has anyone used the "ladder" covers? How do they feel?

I have them and they feel good. They are nice as they don't add the bulk and they stay on well. I bought the full length rails and trimmed them to fit my setup. I believe Falcon is the brand I got. At the range I use a DPMS bag style brass catcher and it wouldn't fit with the standard covers (they were way to bulky) but it fits great with the ladder style.

Just take the extra rails off ... Why have rails if you are just going to cover them up?
If you really desire something, you'll find a way ?
? otherwise, you'll find an excuse.

I would if I could but it is a solid tube. My only option for this set up was rails or no rails. I am mounting a VFG and maybe something else to it so I needed the rails.

I am going to get more pics and a review up next week when I get to spend a little more time shooting it. Yes it is a suppressed 9mm AR.

I have the ladder style on my carbon15 and I like them are better than the full covers.
I am not much on the quad ral handguards though.
