... thus far, IMHO. They are about $8 at Sam's Club.

My wife and I belong to a couple of wine clubs and and tries to get involved in local wine tastings but no wine connoisseurs, just an enthusiast that occasionally enjoys a nice wine from time to time.

It's a masterful blend of rich zinfandel, flavorful syrah, bold cabernet sauvignon, and smooth merlot that creates layers of dark red fruit complemented by hints of vanilla and mocha.

We had paired with meatloaf, brown rice, and salad for dinner. Now having it with Dubliner cheese after dinner.

Cheers!

Kiepersol Estates 2007 Texas Merlot. While its normal selling price was over $10, when they started bottling the 2008 batch recently, they started selling the 2007 for $9.99 to clear the stock. The 2007 Merlot was a Texas Appellation Gold Medal winner. As a matter of fact, I'm having some right now! [:)]

If you can't feel the music; it's only pink noise!

My thoughts are as long as it has 12% and a bit of sugar helps if I'm drinking it. I mainly cook with it. Also I'll just shake the crap out of it to oxygenate it and that helps. Got to love Mason jars for this task.

I don't drink wine often, but sometimes I just have a craving for a nice gourmet meal and what gourmet meal is complete without a great wine choice?

I like to go with Brietenbach Roadhouse Red. Very sweet and $10-12/bottle if I remember correctly.

It goes great with some honey sandwiches on white bread and a steaming hot bowl of spaghetti-o's!

bigoutside - I'm mostly a merlot kinda wine guy but it's something about the complimentary blend of the Apothic that I really like.

CSI21 - The decanter was a Xmas present from my son's girlfirend's Mom [^]. The Menage A Trois is also in my like list. [:p]

I have to keep an eye of others recommendations but will have to respectfully pass on the T-Bird, MD20/20, and anything vintage '79. [}:)]

    Casa La Pastolle
    Cuvee Alexander

either the Merlot or Cabernet. Yeah it will be around $25 but I swear it will run with reds that I have had that cost $250-$300 per bottle.

Do yourself a favor, find a bottle and try it.

Might I suggest MD2020 to compliment your meal of cocoa puffs.
A full bodied fortified wine which exhibits a wonderfull bouquet when the cap is removed. Sure to balance well with meals such as cocoa puffs.
