Why it is called Hunting

Got in the field this morning right at daybreak. Put out the decoys. Dog was wanting me to shoot some doves. I saw woodpeckers, tweety birds, crows,blue jays, black birds, robins, but no doves. However the most excitement of the morning was a hawk who swoop down and took a decoy off its wooden stake. It flew about 50 yd and dropped it. Now that was funny.

We had a pole set up with dove decoys on it. Every day at least half of them would be knocked off of the pipe.

I never could understand someone sitting in a tree stand until a deer comes strolling down his trail and shooting it an calling it hunting.

To a bunch of guys I know, its' called hunting because with them you can't call it guaranteed!

-sitting in a tree stand is called hunting because most people don't have tons of acres available to trail, stalk, still hunt,
-it's called hunting because it takes skill to put the stand in a great place,
-it's called hunting because it's a TYPE of hunting, of which there are many.
