38-55 is a blast to shoot and load for.

I have an old Winchester M94 that I had the barrel re-bored and re-chambered to 38-55. It started out as a 32 spl but the bore was bad when I got it. I had a guy in WA do the work on it. It has a Lyman receiver sight and it is deadly. It was my goto black bear over bait gun and it did the job.

my go to load is a a 240gr FP lead cast bullet with 26gr of Reloader #7 in reformed 30 WCF brass.

Save your brass 38-55 is hard to find.

..I have my Dad's Win. 85 High Wall in 38-55. The bore
is trash and the primers bulge. I'm thinking a barrel
liner. It has pitting and such, so it'll be a shooter.
I like the caliber, so, one of these days. Have fun with
    yours!
