Firework question

I was up at a buddies house last weekend cleaning out his garage
and came across an old stash of fireworks Block busters M80's and such left over from a fourth of july several years ago,He lives in a state where these are legal But he just wants to get rid of them.
Due to the nature of these we Know we couldnt just toss them out with the trash because some kids may get them, He basicly wants to render them un-shootable.The problem is soaking them in water wont penetrate
them (m80's ) and opening them up to wet the powder is dangerious or is it? He Just wants to render them Unusable any ideas? I Know.......
I just dont have the desire to pop them off myself or i would take them[^]

Bet the local PD or FD could help with disposal.

Taking them apart by cutting with a knife first is not hazardous if no spark or flame is involved. You could crush them under vehicle wheels as an alternative.

Whatever you do, you're still going to have to deal with the black powder that's in them. I'd do what Instant Karma suggests, then incinerate them, or give them to the police.

    No I wouldn't - I'd blow 'em all up!

NO, put them all together and then blow them up.

start a fire in a burn barrel (55 gal drum) put all the fireworks in a plastic bucket and once the fires going throw the bucket in and run.
Or stop cleaning the garage, leave then there and go shooting. [:D]

I'd do both and take the bucket with me shooting.

Find some fast burning cannonfuse/pyrotechnics fuse somewhere on the net - buy a pack/roll of it, just tie them onto the fuse, drive your neighbour nuts with an ongoing series of blasts. [:D]

DO NOT go cutting into them or run them under car tires. That is not black powder in there. It's one of various nitrates or chlorates, aluminum powder, sulfer, with maybe a touch of carbon. You can bet a dime that it is shock/friction sensitive. If you must, snap open a ladyfinger and put a pinhead size bit on an anvil, then tap with a hammer. When your ears stop ringing, you'll see. Just light'em, or a 2 day soak in oil or kerosene, then in the garbage..JMHO
