    The museum is incredible. Over in the WW 1 section, quietly hanging on a rack, is an 03 Springfield, with a Pedersen Device installed- think there are fewer than 20 of those in existence. MacAthur's pistol, Eisenhower's pistol etc. And in one of the first cases as you enter, a beautiful engraved double barrel BOLT ACTION rifle.

    Anyone that gets close to Fairfax VA, it is worth the visit.

    very interesting...Japanese must have reverse-engineered an M1 at that point in the war when they really had little industrial capacity left

    I knew I had seen that before. Page 605 Small Arms of the World (12th revised edition). Not only a Japanese copy of the M1 but also a Japanese copy of the Pedersen rifle.
