Remember when?

American Idol is an extremely popular hit show. Note how the aspiring "Idols" hold a microphone or wear one alongside their face? Dancing around? Back and forth? Somewhat like the highly animated and highly talented Garth Brooks?

Now........

Remember when a male singer came out on stage in a TV show, dressed in a tuxedo, clean shaven, hair perfect, wearing patent leather dress shoes, stayed in one spot on that stage and sang out into the air (we couldn't see the boom microphone over his head), using his arms to express himself during the performance.

Remember when a female singer came out in an evening dress or gown, fully coiffed, makeup impeccably applied and like her male counterpart, stayed in one place on the stage, sang out into the air and used her hands to gracefully express herself?

Remember when singers in general didn't hold notes forever and roll them around, up and down and up and down and up and down on a vocal washboard just to create an effect?

Remember when singers didn't scream songs? When they actually hit the high notes fluidly and repeatedly, without crouching down into a near-spasm stance, kness bent inward as if their baldder was about to burst?

Remember when singers immediately bowed or courtsied after the sing ended and said "Thank You!" to their audience?

Remember how we looked forward to The Ed Sullivan Show every Sunday evening?

Do you remember when we all thought Judge Dread was nuts?

He didn't come close to some of the lame loonie tunes that are hanging around here now.

Compared to some of the current members, Eric Williams was an intellectual giant.

Trolls have come and gone over the years, but I think there are more now than at any other time.

Bidden said "mark my words, it won't be 6 months before something happens, an international incident to test the metal of this guy" BARAK
funny thing is the arabs and others have been pulling their money out of the stock market and now floundering banks in somewhat of a controled fashion so they don't start a panic but they want all their assets out of this country and why? because when they start a war with isreal, they know the US will freeze all their assets. IRAN will attack Isreal before next memorial day and the US will do nothing about it because the libs are in power. That was the second half of Bidens message..."at first it may seem we are making the wrong descision about how to deal with the crisis"

On August 24, 2011, armed FBI agents in SWAT gear executed a warrant for the seizure of wood at Gibson Guitar facilities.

At the time, the raid appeared peculiar because of the excessive forced used over charges of regulatory violations. The premise of the raid was an obscure 100-year-old law known as the Lacey Act. On the basis of this act, the Feds were able to storm the facilities, claiming that Gibson's had broken foreign (not American) law in its procurement of the wood, even though the government produced no evidence of the crime at the time and no evidence has since emerged that the material was illegally obtained. Juszkiewicz was only told at the time that the Gibson supply chain had a "risk" of including illicit wood.

Notably, one of Gibson's biggest competitors, C.F. Martin & Co., reportedly uses the same type of wood seized from Gibson's, but did not face any kind of interference from the federal government. The Examiner reports that Chris Martin IV, CEO of C.F. Martin & Co., is a well-known Democratic fundraiser. The Examiner describes Martin as "a long-time Democratic supporter, with $35,400 in contributions to Democratic candidates and the DNC over the past couple of election cycles." Furthermore, no other companies known to use the wood in question, such as furniture manufacturers, have reported similar prosecution from the federal government, though the wood is distributed widely throughout the world.

    Yep.

IMO more (alter egos) now are just trying to get everyone in an uproar, so they can sit back and laugh at us and believe they have accomplished something.

Ol' EW fooled a lot of us.

Yup, but there is only one way to get them to leave, and this ain't it.

Went looking at a Marlin 39 on Saturday Wundudnee, but it turned out to be a 39A and I thought he wanted to much. You are really gonna have to give me some pointers for buying three a day like the pros do.[^][8D][}:)][:p]

what is the benefit/reward for posting and creating enmity amongst people here?

You ever get a picture of those guys sitting hunched over the PC grinning like a polecat, muttering bits of caustic dialog at the computer screen?

If Chuck Norris heard you say that, Chuck Norris would roundhouse kick your butt worse than Chuck Norris. Unless, of course, by "worse", you meant "with less ferocity", in which case Chuck Norris would agree, and you would be correct.

You know Wundudnee it occurs to me that some things don't change. In Dredds day we had posts on aliens. Today we still have posts on aliens. Only the names of those warning us of dire consequences has changed.
