Krieghoff shotgun experts

As many of you know, I am having to help my MIL sell of my late FIL's collection. I have this particular shotgun, which was the shotgun he shot during his many years, (and several National Championships which he won) on the skeet shooting circuit. It is a Krieghoff K32 with the engraved reciever and claro walnut stocks.

Inside the stock, is an air-piston type recoil reducer, which no longer holds air. I assume an O-ring will fix that?? The photos of the stock will show you that the larger rearward portion, actually slides back and forth over the thinner, inner portion.

The set also has all 4 competition gauge barrel sets (not the inserts, but the actual barrel sets themselves) as well as the 2 (one longer one shorter) 12ga barrel sets (for a total of SIX barrels) as well as the original inserts for all 3 smaller gauges AND KOLER tubes for all gauges (for a total of 2 sets of inserts). There are also 2 fitted cases for the gun, the barrel sets, etc etc.

1. How much would repairing the internal piston cost??
2. About how much would you think this is worth??

Thanks for any help as I am out of my comfort zone with guns such as this.

    great looking shotgun
not much help as I have always been and will remain a Mossberg / Remington price range shotgun owner [:I]

I would guess the recoil system would be a easy fix some what inexpensive cost compared to what it will bring in working condition good luck

Look through the completed auctions for similar sets.

I would have it fixed first.

The stocks shown on this website look like the one in your photos.

This looks to me to be the outfit to get ahold of for repair of the air cylinders.
    Hope that helps.

That is a very specific gun requiring a very specific buyer.

If I understand you correctly it is a 4 bbl set.
So I would presume it has a Hardcase as well.

Honestly, be ready to sit on it for a while either on the auction side or on consignment.

A gun like that is one that breaks my heart to get sold off, but I understand there's reasons it has to go.

I would contact DuPont Kreighoff in Florida and see about getting appraised, then set a reserve auction up 10% lower than appraised value. After that it's a waiting game.

NeoBlackDog, thanks for that link. I would have never found that company since I figured the gun came from the factory this way.

for the others, thanks for the ideas. I figured maybe someone around here was a Krieghoff owner who may be able to help me get a starting idea on how to list it. Off to research completed auctions now, but even that is sparse with information.

I am fighting the urge to buy this myself, but the wife may be able to help with that decision[:D]

Oh, at least the barrels shown appear to be a trap barrel not skeet. You don't see the big vent ribs or recoil reduction set ups on skeet guns like you do with trap.
