here is my 85 blazer sitting next to the 05 jimmy.
it took 4 spray cans of carb cleaner, 1 bottle of compound and 1 bottle of polish to get it looking this good. not to bad for original paint. all rubbed by hand

Check it out, folks! I have replaced my M1114 Up-armored humvee with something a little more useful.

Say "Hello" to the M923/M925 5-ton truck.

Obviously, none of these are the one that I drive, but you guys get the point.

I wish....found this little Veteran's park in Dixon, IL a year or so ago and stopped by the other day and took a few more pictures. I love the old M60A1.

Nice rig--my sister had one that year with the 2.8L. If you have never owned that year before be aware that the 4x4 is vacuum operated and sometimes the lines get cracked. The 4x4 light will come on but you won't have 4 wheel drive and can leave ya stranded so check that out. The other issue with them is there is what I call a key that holds the harmonic balancer in place--they get worn out and you can spin the crank. Other than that it was a pretty decent rig.

I like the color but I think you need a new set of wheels. Those just don't do it justice.

the blazer had not been waxed for about 20 years. you can figure the amount of oxidation that was on it. i tried rubbing compound and it just barely started to clean it. it might have did a better job if i had a buffer , but i didn't. i was taking a break when my buddy stoped by. he said try carb cleaner. i just laughed. he went to the work bench grabed a can and a rag. he said watch this. he sprayed and wiped as soon as the cleaner hit the paint . he said the mail thing is to keep the surface wet. you dont need to rub like you are polishing. just spray and wipe untill all the residue is gon and move to the next section. i was shocked, it actually started to shine with the cleaner. then i used the rubbing compound and then polish. just wish i had taken a picture before i started
