If it is a true ceramic kamado style smoker they are mostly similar. Most of the big box versions you see are steel with a fiberwool or ceramic filling. Those will rust out and be worthless in a few years. I went with a Bradley Digital smoker after my Old New Braunfels Black Diamond finally rusted out.

I have owned and used a Big Green Egg for years , it is the best all around smoker/ BBQ/ slow cooker I have ever had.
It took years for me to justify the cost, fortunately I made the right decision and got one.
I hear that some other similar ceramic ones are better, the same, or cheap knock-offs.
From my own experience , and heavy use of the EGG, I would not hesitate in the least to reccommended it to one and all.

I have had an egg for some years maybe 10 or 11?

I like it. I also have an electric smoker and like that too. The egg is great for grilling and all day cooking, searing steaks, great burgers, all day Bork butts and ribs.

But the convenience of a blue tooth connected master built smoker is really nice too. Got that in a Christmas sale or post Christmas 2 years ago.

I think the Comodo Joe ceramic cooker is nice too, it seams to have some nice attributes not in the egg, but not sure if I'd use a lot. Worth a look though.

I have a 10 year old bubba keg (Insulated dual wall steel). I'm going big green egg next year.
