What is a good clear reliable night vision scope, for a resonable price(around $220)?

They don't make it. Two or even three hundred is not going to get you a good clear nightvision scope. Start looking on the gun broker auction and you'll get an idea of what you will have to pay.

Yeah there is Gen 1 thru Gen 3, 3 is the absolute best, and is what the military currently uses I believe, but a decent gen 3 is gonna be at least 3 grand.

Gotta disagree with this comment. I have now and have owned several night vision scopes (both handheld and rifle) that ran me less than 300 bucks and have benn pleased with all but one of them.

The less expensive scopes tend to need an IR more than others in total darkeness and some tend to have a few spots on the tubes, but unless you are in a life or death situation its nothing to fret over.

If you look for one with at least 35,000 times light amplification and better that 28 lpm resolution you will find it to be great for wildlife or watching the skinny dippers at night[:D]

Stay away from Moonlight products and you should be fine. Mopst of the 1st gen and 1stgen+ in the US is russian tubes and american assembled.

Do a little research (E-bay is good) and you CAN get a decent night vision device for around 250 to 300. I bought on off fleabay for 300 that was originally a 500 dollar unit with 5x magnification and built in IR, it worked wonderfully untill I dropped it from a tree stand[:(].

Shop around you can get one
