Anyone know the reason............

............that all these firearms have had the receivers cut? Is it that they were used in crimes and now some law enforcement agency, or court system has deemed this to be done?

    I would have thought, if they were to be destroyed, they would have been completely destroyed. Doesn't make much sense to cut the receivers, unless, you did NOT want to go through FFL checks! Parts is parts, right?
    You would NOT need a transfer for the parts shown would you?

    Doesnt the BAFT have specs for what level of mutilation makes a firearm rendered to not a fire arm?

    In NC as long as the receiver is destroyed the gun is considered destroyed. I was in the gunsmiths shop the other day and he was buying the parts from the police. He was robbing the police. Although he did get a 45 reblued for free. [:0][:0]

    What if these are stolen items, that were to have been destroyed? The Taurus pistol kit had parts that bear serial #'s,(slide, barrel)
