I recentlyt saw the signature of another forum member stating that the Constitution does not allow for separation of church and state. I strenuously disagree.
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise therof"
Plain as day.
That's how they said "I'm keeping out of this" back in the day.

like the church of England was and is.
It also states that it will not make laws restricting the exercise of religion like the Church of England was.
Nowhere in the U.S. Constitution does it state: "Seperation of Church and State".
"Those who beat their guns into plow shares; will plow for those who don't."
"Isaiah 5:20 ?Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!"

Plain as day?? I must be missing something, becase to me it says CONGRESS shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof."
The amendment means exactly what is says: CONGRESS cant make laws establishing and CONGRESS cant make laws prohibiting religion. In other words, religion is not the busines of congress.
So, if the state of New York decided they wanted to have a state religion, with religious icons, ten commandments, nativity scenes, manual daily prayer for all of its citizens, then constitutionally speaking, they are free to do so, and CONGRESS, nor the federal government, can not interfere, because the constitution prohibits the federal government from interfering with the expression of religion.
