I think they all look very good. Pictures are excellent. I only wish I could afford some of those Brownings.

Its just my opinion but I think the BL-22 is $100-150 to high to start. I can buy decent used ones around here $350-450. Hope you get your price though.

Nice listings, descriptions, and very nice photos.
All of the opening prices seem to be just about top dollar. I'll be shocked if you get any bids on the A-5 12 gauge. I love those A-5's and the 12's are just flat right now!
Good luck!

Grade 1 or Grade 2? That is a Grade 2 in the original box.

I don't know anything about those, or pricing, but would suggest that your listing would look a little more professional without that "anti-PayPal" commentary -- particularly not at the top of the listing description.

You'll be dealing with a more professional person on those items than you might be dealing with if you're normally selling lower-priced items. You may not need to use your "template" with all your "warnings" and "harsh" Q and As.

You also may want to try a little simple html like and to create bold and italicized words/sentences instead of using all caps for the points you want to stress.

I'd also suggest, if you are doing these on a consignment basis, with the high dollar amounts you'll be dealing with -- and the relatively small percentage you'll probably actually be making when measured against the revenue you'll be handling -- that you protect yourself from a tax liability perspective and issue 1099s to the widow lady you're helping in selling these. (I don't think it would affect her tax-wise -- she won't likely have any capital gains issues from the 1099s you generate as any cost-basis would be the same as her selling price.)

Any handguns in her collection?

People don't read the Paypal warning anyway. Despite it being there right up front, I still get requests to use Paypal.

I don't get the 1099 part. The owner of the guns is not a contractor, and I am not paying her for a service.

When something sells, I will send her a check for the sale price, minus my commission, and a detailed, itemized receipt. That covers me, and accounts for my money. If any of these guns sells for more than their original cost, the gain and any tax due on it will be between her, her CPA, and the IRS. Not my problem.

Yup! That's how I see it!
I saw a grade 1 BL-22 sell at a shop on Saturday for $400.00. It was far from mint. So, you seem close on your Grade 2. They are great little guns!

I was booking the guns in, and picked up the BL-22 to record its serial number. Out of habit, a good habit, I cycled the lever to make sure the gun was empty, and a .22 LR round flew out! There were several more in the tube. Oh well, I got a half-dozen .22 cartridges as a bonus!

Yeah, that's a real good habit! I love that 33 degree throw on that gun. I have two of them. One NIB and one that has been my "backyard" gun for the last 30+ years.

This is more for the in box A5, but could apply to any of the Brownings.
I would add the address to your description. St Louis, Morgan and so on. Some may not be able to read it in the images.

like the auctions, to steep for me but i like the guns too.

that said its hard to belive that a man with this much invested in his collection would booger up the screw heads/slots with a 50cent screwdriver, its just mind-blowing.

that means you have great pictures for a full discloser in what your gonna buy. JMHO

Do you know the objective size on the scopes? Are they 40mm? Or 32?

I usually ID a scope like 3x7x40.

grade 1's go for $250-300 I picked one up with alot more scratches than yours for $175. Had a chance at a grade two few months back $395, no box and had been shot a lot, still nice wood just a few scratches, I just look for shooters not really interested in safe queens.

As I said before I hope you get your price, for the widows sake.

On further review, you appear to be right -- there should be no need for any 1099.

(Business owners almost got hit with that requirement -- having to issue 1099s to anyone merchandise was acquired from, including corporations -- but the law was repealed before it could take effect.)

You are difinitly high on your price of 650 for a grade two. I collect them and only the grade two's. I now own three of them and bought all for under 500.Maybe they have gone up in price over the last year. let it ride and see what happens.David, Here is a picture of two of them. The third one is buried in the back of the safe and I don't feel like digging it out.

Went back and did a little research. One like yours in mint condition is between 625 and 675. You would sell yours real fast at a starting price of 500 to 525 IMHO.Its not mint, but a great little shooter[;)]
