Got an Old lady that lives near us who does not have any family left. Some of us pitch in and help her when we can and keep a eye on her.
Last year we replaced the wall tile and installed a shower to allow her to get in and out of easier. along with a new vent.
Found out last week her commode was leaking where the supply line attached to the tank. Apparently it had been leaking for some time and had gotten under the tile.
So yesterday I tore into it by removing the old tile and commode. Went to Lowes and they were able to match the existing tile. Got what I needed along with a new commode, valve, hose and gasket. Went back and tore her old stuff out to allow it to dry some.
Got a friend to help and we all of the new tile down and the commode installed. Now I just need to go back and seal the grout once it completely cures.
She fed us a big plate of pinto beans, fried potatoes and corn bread for lunch... "Hopen yall likes my cooking for I me just an old farm gal meself."
Told her lunch paid for the parts and labor.

My last "widder woman" job was a week ago last Sunday and involved a 5 mile ride on the Ranger to chase cows and fix fence in the rain. Much more within my talents than fixing tile in the bathroom.
My last "Widder woman" favor, ended up with me being held at gunpoint by the local sheriffs department!

- A guy goes to visit his grandmother and he brings his friend with him. While he's talking to his grandmother, his friend starts eating the peanuts on the coffee table, and finished them off. As they're leaving, his friend says to his grandmother, "Thanks for the peanuts." She says, "Yeah, since I lost my dentures I can only suck the chocolate off them."
A few friends and I do what we can for the older folks and families that we know are struggling. A lot of builders offer us left over material and if we don't have it stored on hand we go buy what we need to help someone.
40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. Matthew 25:40 KJV
Love it.
No better feeling than to be able to serve.
Nice work.
